Cadence of My Heart

Is this complete insanity or just hysteria
That has gripped my mind
It’s almost like I have malaria
Cold sweat and no sleep is all I find
And she is surely the cause and cure
With her white rose complexion
And angel voice so pure
It’s no surprise she holds my affection
But my mind must be fried
Because we are a world apart
And what I would give for worlds to collide
Is everything, drop this life and restart
Just to be the one to keep a smile on her face
But until we meet
My heart will continue to race
Pounding to this uncontrollable beat.

Love-Her of the Night, A Sonnet by Michael Knight

Love-Her of the Night

Don't be so fast to call me Montague
for you yourself are not a Capulet
my love grows as if it were old world yew
forcing my weak lovestruck heart to submit
and yet by daylight you still deny me
ignoring our love like it were not there
laughing at it, as if it could not be
hiding it from all those who should not care
but when the sun goes down, you will cry out
my heart will sigh, but I will still answer
and all the songs of our love you will shout
with each word eating at me like cancer
because this will only last for the night
and as soon as day breaks, so will my heart.

A Beautiful Thing

A Beautiful Thing

Like a sunflower in spring,

Your a beautiful thing.

Like the honey of a bee,

Your words are so sweet to me.

Like the blue bird in the sky,

When I feel your touch I can fly.

And whenever you are near

I have nothing to fear.

No mountains to overcome,

No demons to run from.

Just the sight of a beautiful thing.

New Poems by Michael Knight

Here they are!!!
New poems by Michael Knight

Silly Little Poets

Many things come to mind
When a poet comes across such a beautiful find,
Comparing them to things of beauty,

Using words that are soft and fruity.

But if they were to ask for a thousand years,

Whisper your name into a million ears,

And remain undeterred,

Not one poet could find one word

To describe your charisma and grace,

Your inner beauty and face.

Though I write these words in vain,

Causing myself mental pain,

For I am one of those silly little poets,

One that likes you but can't find the words to show it.

The White Desert Rose

Like a blue bird's song,

When I hear your voice nothing is wrong,

Like an earthquake

When I see you my legs shake,

And like a torent blaze,

I can fell the heat of you dazzling gaze.

And like the heat of a July sun,

You make my thoughts run,

The only girl that can make my heart come undone.

And if life were like that of the tundra and froze

You would be proof of the white desert rose.

Can You Kiss An Angel?

As I watch this sunset in front of me,

There is but one thing more beautiful that I can see,

And that is the marvel of your heavenly bliss.

As we sit here, I dream of a soft delicate kiss,

A taste of luscious angel lips.

And as the sun slowly dips,

And the moon and stars come out to dance,

The mood goes from friendly to romance.

I take a chance, make my move,

And try and prove

You can kiss an angel.

Can You Answer A Question?

Me and you are the people we show true?

Can we live without our crutch?

The one thing to protect us from life's cold touch.

I wonder what keeps us going?

What keeps the blood in our veins flowing?

We all take personal blows,

And have personal lows,

And yet we move on till the bad is all gone.

But does it ever go away?

Or is it forever here to stay?

So what is your saving grace?

Your true identity, your true face?

Can you truefully answer anything I just asked?

Or are your true words muffled by a mask?

The Campfire Flower

Like this beautiful red flower

In the morning hour,

Your beauty exceeds the rest.
A rose among weeds, a lily upon thorns,

Your simply the best.

And if each passing hour

Your beauty grew sour,

It would still shine above the rest.

Hailey's Sunset

You lit my world up like the morning sun rays,

You were the light in my dreary days.

You were the warmth in the cold,

The person I knew I could treasure and hold.

You were the brightest star in my night,

But now your gone and almost out of sight,

And like a child without fun,

A flower without sun,

I am left incomplete.

The Feeling of Words

It felt like the fury of the sea,

Crashing into me,

It's warmth was like that of a star,

One that is so dim and far,

And like a shriek to the ear,

You said things I did not want to hear.

And as the air in my lungs turns cold

I realize I no longer have anyone to hold.

To any other ear it would have sounded like any other word,

But these are the feelings it stirred.

Hands of a Clock

This is not a play; and we are not Romeo and Juliet.

Our meeting was chance, a one in a millon bet.

The time we spent together I will never forget,

You are the one stranger I'm glad to have met.

I was drawn in by your stare,

But it was your warmth that kept me there,

I hate how we did not have long,

Or how I think of you every time I hear that song.

I was sad when that last morning came around,

I was depressed you were homebound,

And when I hade to say goodbye,

It took all I had not to cry.

So now your gone and I sit and pray,

For your happiness every day.

And like the hands on Big Ben,

A clock striking 12:01, I hope it is only time before our hands meet again.

Celestial Being

Celestial Being from the sky,

What is wrong?

Why do you cry?

Why did you stop singing your song?

Celestial Being from above,

Is it he who you miss?

His love?

His kiss?

Celestial Being from the air,

Wipe that tear from your eye,

He didn't care,

All he did was cheat and lie.

Celestial Being from the sky,

I could be your guy.

Hailey's Sun Rise

Your hair is golden like the morning sun rays,

Your eyes trap me like a beautiful blue maze,

The way you hold me I just can't explain,

The high you give me is as strong as cocaine,

And like a dream come true,

I never thought I would be with a beauty like you.

And I can only hope and pray,

That after this day, you will be hear to stay.

Facing a Fact

The water I tred upon is restless and cold,

And who I am is rusted and old.

The story I live in is overtold,

A princess and brave knight,

An epic battle and fight,

Dark being conquered by light.

But in reality this is not the case,

No princess, no knights, no heroics.

Just a fact I must face.

Poems by Michael Knight

Drop-Dead Cutie

A drop-dead cutie
A magnificent beauty
Gorgeous angel from the sky

I would live to die
To keep all tears from your eye
To free you from your pains
To wash away past stains

And as free as you claim to be
It seems only I can see
The steel bars encasing your heart

But you must let go, angel from above
Let your heart free like a snow white dove
Break free from those bars
Let go and touch the stars
And for you to do this
To leave your dark abyss
To rid yourself of that pain
And finally attain
The happiness you have so long been denied

A drop-dead cutie
A magnificent beauty
Gorgeous angel from the sky
Your pain is the reason I cry

Midnight Beauty

You are a midnight beauty
Running through my dreams
Making me think of romantic schemes
Your devilish eyes hinting at sin
Your delicate way of letting me in
But alas it cannot be, for it’s in my dreams I can only see
That midnight beauty

The Flower of My Heart

A snow-white flower
Whose beauty grows, blooms every hour
You’re one of a kind
With a wonderful mind

And a soul that sets my heart on fire
And when I think of this I know you’re all I ever will desire

A Dream of Shakespeare’s Love (Katherine and Juliet)

A priceless piece of art
The flame of my heart

A beauty from the sky
Whose love I would not deny

In this time of need
I beg, I plead

For my angel from above
So that I may love

But it’s not to be
No love for me

If only life were like that of Shakespeare’s mind
A Katherine, Juliet I could find

To settle for less than that would not be fine
But a Katherine, Juliet could never be mine

And though I have all this love to give
I am destined to live

A life like that of old Ebenezer Scrooge

Nature’s Symphony

Dangling clouds cover the swaying trees
As I hear the sound of the fading bees
The water and wind dancing as one
With hints of a fading orange sun
The seagulls begin to quiet
As the mosquitoes begin to riot

As the pale moon comes out to play

A perfect transition from light to dark
As the midnight dogs begin to bark
As I sit and watch this I’m hit with an epiphany
This is nature’s symphony

La Bellezza Di Amanda

The world is full of beauty but not like yours
It brings jealousy to every angel that sours
And like a lily among thorns, you’re simply the best
The one with beauty, so much better than the rest

Your skin is ivory fare like an elephant’s tusk
Your words are soft like a warm breeze at dusk

Your blond hair flows like the River Thames
And your eyes sparkle like two beautiful blue gems

With ruby red lips
Perfect curves and hips

Thoughts of such beauty camps in my head
Your beauty makes my heart feel like lead.

Hell in Angel's Skin, by Michael Knight

With eyes so blue,
and touch so new,
its like flying without wings.
Your like my angel of light,
who's love has taken me to a new height.
A place I have never known.
You have rekindled my light and brought back my will to fight,
something that I thought would never return.
With eye's so blue and touch so new,
I wonder if these fealings we have are true?
